Everyone has a say on the Rafael Devers saga. The Boston Red Sox's former third baseman and current designated hitter has ruffled feathers with his refusal to play first base in the wake of Triston Casas’ season-ending knee surgery.

The Boston Red Sox have dealt with plenty of drama around Rafael Devers during the 2025 MLB season. Devers, who refused to move off third base earlier this year to make room for Alex Bregman, eventually agreed to shift to designated hitter.

The 22-year-old Red Sox prospect has been up to 99.5 mph with his fastball. He grew up a big David Ortiz fan and roomed with the legend's son during spring training.
