On Wednesday morning, Nick Underhill reports that the Saints will open their 2025-26 NFL season at home against the Arizona Cardinals.

The NFL will formally announce the 2025 regular season schedule in a live show on NFL Network at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday evening, but rumors and reports are already flying around about the New Orleans Saints' slate.

According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, the Saints are slated to open the season at home against the Arizona Cardinals. It marks the third straight year New Orleans has started the season inside the Caesars Superdome.

The New Orleans Saints will take on their former head coach in this year's third and final preseason game, playing the Denver Broncos in exhibition.

Prior to Carr's arrival, the Saints had struggled to find stability at the quarterback position following the retirement of future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees. The team cycled through several starting quarterbacks, including Trevor Siemian, Andy Dalton, Ian Book, Taysom Hill, and Jameis Winston, with limited success.

Those factors align in a player who might wind up on the trade block this year. According to Matt Holder at Bleacher Report, Rashid Shaheed of the New Orleans is one of six wide receivers who could get dealt next after George Pickens went from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys.
